President's Greetings

  >  Introduction  >  President's Greetings

Dear esteemed members of the Korean Society of Endoscopic Neurosurgery (KOSEN),

I'I am deeply honored to serve as the 8th President of our society. With immense gratitude and enthusiasm, I also accept the responsibility that comes with this position and I assure you that I will do my best to serve our society.

Since its inception at the inaugural meeting in 2016, our society has thrived over the past eight years. Starting with just 30 members, we have now grown to reach 180 members, solidifying our position as the leading society in endoscopic neurosurgery and skull base surgery.
This would not have been possible without the leadership of our past presidents and the dedicated effort of our members. I extend my special appreciation to our former president, Professor Wan-Soo Yoon, who successfully guided us through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

KOSEN has always been a place of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration. Together with the new executive committee, we will make every effort to create an environment where every member can continue to strive. Over the coming term, we will focus on three key areas.
Firstly, I believe that the cooperation between two specialties, Neurosurgery and Otorhinolaryngology has been the fundamental driving force for the growth of our society. To encourage this collaborative effort, we will emphasize the slogan "Together we are Better" throughout our term.
Secondly, we will enhance academic activities and foster closer ties among our members. To achieve this, we will be focusing on revitalizing our regular case meetings exploring new formats to encourage active participation. Additionally, we will resume our signature Overseas Cadaver Workshop, which had been suspended during the pandemic. Finally, to boost international relations, we will explore ways to increase our participation in upcoming international conferences such as NASBS and EndoKL scheduled to take place in 2024.

Along with the 8th executive committee, we are committed to the continued growth of KOSEN and in becoming a global leader in endoscopic skull base surgery. I kindly request your continued interest, support, and generous advice.

I wish you all good health and happiness.

June 2023
Tae-Bin Won, M.D., Ph.D.
8th President of the Korean Society of Endoscopic Neurosurgery
