" Shaping the Next Decade: Harmony, Innovation, and Global Collaboration"

Dear esteemed members of the Korean Society of Endoscopic Neurosurgery (KOSEN),

I am Sang Duk Hong, Professor of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine and the 10th President of KOSEN. It is my great pleasure and honor to have been given the opportunity to serve this esteemed society—one to which I have passionately contributed since its founding.

While initial concerns were raised at the time of our establishment, over the past decade KOSEN has achieved steady growth and strengthened its foundation through harmonious collaboration and innovative challenges. Today, with over 200 members, the society has firmly established itself as a specialized academic entity, and I am proud to say that our scholarly depth and international recognition have grown significantly.

I extend my deepest respect and gratitude to all past presidents who have devoted themselves to guiding the society.

" Shaping the Next Decade: Harmony, Innovation, and Global Collaboration" - these are the guiding principles of the 10th Executive Board and the core values we envision for KOSEN' s future. As we mark our 10th anniversary, we embark on a new journey toward the next ten, and even twenty years, renewing our commitment to the society's sustainable development.

🔹 Activate clinical case meetings
We will further activate the essential educational meetings—where younger members can freely present and engage in discussions—and reinforce our core educational mission.

🔹 Resume overseas cadaveric workshops(planned for 2026-01-09 to 10)
We will relaunch our signature overseas cadaveric workshops. Beyond simple technical training, these will be meaningful gatherings for academic solidarity and personal exchange.

🔹 Advance the Endoscopic Neuro-Surgical Atlas
Building upon the Atlas project initiated by the previous board, we will ensure its legacy and develop sustainable content. This will enrich KOSEN’s educational offerings and deepen our scholarly impact.

🔹 Promote participation in major international conferences
We will actively support our members’ roles as faculty at key global meetings such as NASBS 2026 and Endo Athens 2026. Young members will receive increased opportunities and support to attend, learn the latest insights firsthand, and expand their international networks.

Although many hospitals are currently facing challenges—such as the ongoing absence of medical residents—this is precisely when your interest, active participation, and warm encouragement become the greatest driving force for the future of our society.

The 10th Executive Board is committed to advancing KOSEN through harmonious communication, creative education, and the expansion of our global network.

Together with all our members, we will realize Innovation through Harmony and connect Globally through Collaboration. With your continued support and enthusiastic participation, KOSEN will rise to even greater prominence as a world-class professional society. Thank you.
